Write down the rent or mortgage you would actually pay, the cost of moving, expected income after tax, and the money left for an unexpected expense. If a job or home is only a possibility, do not enter it into your plan as a confirmed offer. Check travel time, healthcare or care arrangements, and the people who would be available to you in either place. A short visit can answer some questions that a reading cannot. If children or other dependants are affected, their practical needs belong in the decision too.

I cannot guarantee happiness in one city, prove that a relationship will survive distance, or promise a job or home will remain available.
