Trance Mediumship Reading by Email

A written report drawn from a deep, still state of mind, prepared in private and sent to you in writing.

I have worked as a medium since 1975. In all those years I have kept to one way of working, which is to sit alone, in writing, and to send back a report. This page concerns one particular kind of work I offer: the trance mediumship reading, prepared by email.

What a trance mediumship reading is

Trance mediumship is not theatre. The word can sound dramatic, but the practice itself is quiet. I bring myself into a deep stillness, a settled and slowed state of attention, and I hold there for as long as the work requires. In that stillness the ordinary chatter of the mind drops away. Thoughts, opinions, the wish to please, the wish to be right: these are the things that get in the way of an honest reading, and stillness sets them down for a while. What comes through then arrives with less interference from me. I write it as it comes.

I want to be plain about this. I do not claim to vanish or to become someone else. I claim only to get my own noise out of the way so that impressions can settle clearly enough to be written down. That is the whole of it.

How it differs from an ordinary reading

An ordinary reading tends to move at the speed of conversation. Questions are asked, answers are given, and the reader's own mind is busy throughout, steering and tidying. A trance reading slows everything down. The difference is depth of stillness, not a difference of powers. Because I am not talking, not watching a face, not filling a silence, the work can go further down and stay there longer. The result is usually quieter in tone and more particular in detail. It is also slower to produce, which is why I take it on by written appointment rather than on demand.

What you receive

You receive a written report. Nothing else. There is no call, no recording, no live sitting. I read in private, I write while the impressions are fresh, and I send you the finished report by email. You can read it once and set it aside, or return to it over weeks. A written report does not pressure you to react in the moment, and it does not let me hide behind tone of voice or a reassuring manner. The words have to stand on their own, and so they are chosen with care. If you would like to see the other written work I offer, you may view my services.

Why I work alone, and in writing

I work alone because stillness does not survive an audience. The moment there is someone to perform for, the mind starts performing, and the very interference I am trying to quiet comes straight back. Solitude is not a preference. It is part of the method. I work in writing for a related reason: writing forces honesty. A spoken reading can drift and soften and say a great deal without committing to anything. A written report is fixed. You can hold it up against events. I am willing to be held to what I write, and I think you are owed that.

An honest note

I will not promise what I cannot promise. Stillness improves the conditions for clear impressions, but it does not guarantee contact, and no honest medium can promise that it will. Some readings come through with weight and specificity. Others are quieter, or stay general, and when that happens I tell you so rather than dress it up. You are paying for careful, truthful work, not for a guaranteed message. If that suits the way you wish to be treated, you are welcome to write to me and tell me a little about what brings you here.
