What Is a Human Design Reading?

A Human Design reading is an interpretation of a BodyGraph, the chart the Human Design System calculates from your date, time, and place of birth. The chart itself is free to generate. What a reading adds is a person looking at the whole of it and explaining how the parts fit together, ideally in relation to something you are actually living through. In my practice that means one written report, focused on one real question, sent by email.

My Human Design reading costs CA$70 and arrives within 3 days. I need your date, exact time, and place of birth, and a short note about the decision or pattern you want me to consider. This note explains what the system is, what I look at, what you receive, and where its limits sit.

Where the system comes from

Human Design was set out by Ra Uru Hu, born Alan Robert Krakower, after what he described as an eight-day mystical experience on Ibiza in January 1987. He taught it until his death in 2011. The material published from his teaching presents the system as a synthesis that draws on the I Ching, astrology, the Kabbalah, and the chakra system. I mention the origin because it matters to how you weigh a reading. Human Design is a received system, not a body of research. Its own teachers frame it as an experiment you test in your own life rather than something you accept on faith. I approach it the same way. I can explain the framework carefully, but I do not present it as a measurement of who you are.

What the chart contains

The BodyGraph shows nine centres, each either defined (coloured in) or undefined (white). Channels connect the centres, and gates sit along those channels. The chart also carries two sets of planetary calculations, printed in black and red, which the system calls the Personality and the Design: one read as conscious, the other as unconscious. From those elements come the features people usually hear about first: type, strategy, inner authority, and profile.

There are four types in the original teaching. Generators, a group that includes Manifesting Generators, make up around 70% of people by the figures Jovian Archive publishes. Projectors are about 20%, Manifestors about 9%, and Reflectors just over 1%. What a reading adds to a free chart

A free chart gives you labels. It may tell you that you are a 2/4 Projector with splenic authority and an undefined Head centre. That is accurate as far as it goes, and it is a reasonable place to start. It does not tell you how those parts relate to each other, or which of them matters most to the choice in front of you.

A reading is where those connections are made. If you are a Projector deciding whether to accept a new role, I look at what the system says about invitations, how your authority is meant to settle a decision, and whether open centres might be adding pressure that is not really yours. What I need from you

Send your date, exact time, and place of birth. The time matters more here than in some other chart work. A shift of even a short period can move a planet into a different gate or line, and occasionally that changes which centres are defined, and with them the type or authority. A recorded time from a birth certificate or hospital record is best. If the time is remembered rather than recorded, say so. If you do not know it at all, contact me first before ordering. Then write a short note about one present question. It might be a work decision, a relationship pattern you keep repeating, or a sense that you are deciding things in a way that leaves you tired or resentful. One honest paragraph is enough. You do not need to send documents; typed details are all the calculation requires.

What you receive

I write one private report and send it by email within 3 days. It names the main chart features, explains what the system says about each, and then applies them to your question. I keep two things separate on the page: what Human Design states as part of its teaching, and what I think it suggests about your situation. You should be able to see where one ends and the other begins.

There is no call. Some people prefer it that way because they can read slowly and return to the report after the first reaction has passed. If you want a reading that does not rely on birth data at all, my written psychic reading works from your question alone.

What a Human Design reading cannot do

Human Design is a reflective framework. It is not a scientific test, a validated personality assessment, or a forecast. It cannot tell you whether a job offer will arrive, whether someone will return, or what a medical result means. A type label does not limit what you are capable of, and an authority label is not a reason to ignore facts or advice in front of you.

Used well, a reading gives you a different angle on a decision you are already making. Used badly, it becomes a set of rules that can excuse avoidance or dismiss other people. I write with the first use in mind. If something in the report does not fit your experience, you are free to set it aside. That is part of testing a framework honestly.

If the answer depends on how you make decisions, a BodyGraph may be useful. If it depends on what someone else will do, no chart can settle that for you.
